Finito Books!!! woohoo :D

Here are my finished pieces for the exhibition im really happy with how they turned out :)

This is my book one!! .. all the bits collaborated together to one final piece :)

This is the cover of my book :)

bits and bobs all together that represent growth and childhood :)

Another section of my book

And again...

I really enjoyed making this it was  really personal and meant alot to me as it represent my childhood and what i felt represented growing as a person

I interlinked the two books together the family growth and the plant growth in nature so they are connected together into one big project i found this to be more interesting :)

Here i planted the seeds ....

This was the result after they grow :)

This is it grown ...

I then stuck the seperate pages i left blank that i didnt cut into and i made the incisions for the plants to grow out of them

When i was confident enough it was right i glued it down :)

The above photos were my result :) ..... i loved making this project i found it really interesting and thought provoking ... :] .. over and out!!! :D

Progress and working on my finished project - Its alllllll coming together [: BOOK TWO

Book Number Two

Sooooooooo here i go again :) ... ive also been working on my second book about nature and growth it represents growth in plants instead of people :)

I cut into the book and glued down allll the pages together i found it very time consuming but it was necessary to hold in all the dirt when i was planting my seeds :)

I did this both sides of the book but left two pages in the centre so i could make incisions for the steams to grow out through the pages writing :)

i photographed this in different angles :)

I filled the holes with the dirt to plant my seeds :)

Here i sowed the seeds to grow :)

Here i made the incisions for the steams to grow through :)

I really enjoyed this i thought it was really cool and was interesting to see if they would grow!!!!

Artist Research - Karen Divine Childlike artists :)

Karen Divine

an Atlantan native who now lives in Colorado, creates delectable dreamlike collages with child-like innocence.  Her work is contemplative, light, and ethereal.

A quote i admire from karen divine

''I see the world in layers, stacking colors and ideas, forms and stories onto each other as if one were walking through their day with blurred vision, not taking in specifics but piecing together various parts and overlapping them, sensing what’s all around us that we sometimes miss when we are caught in our thoughts.  My work expresses through these forms and textures the subtlety of influences that exist. It’s photography that represents my personal experience of the world and becomes stories of multiple and personal ''dimensions.''

this is an actually print of Karen Divines :) i think it looks pretty cool and has inspired me for my book project in the childlike quality in my first book :D

Progress and working on my finished project - Its alllllll coming together [:

Book Number One

Soooooo here it goes ive been working on my book and heres photographs of the progress ive been making .. this book looks at family and growth in people i wanted to show a child like quality about it that will represent childish fun and happiness through childhood and adulthood :)

this was made to use for the walls of my album of memories the ribbon gives an innocent look that reminds me of a childlike quality

I cut out card and cover it with pages out of an old book i purchased in the second hand shop this was then used as a foundation for my book

I experimented with ink and movement and flow and the direction it was moving this i felt was a good reference for the unexpected in life i added the butterfly because it reminded me of the long summers i had as a child and represented well with my other theme of nature :)

I tried to recreate my thoughts as a child i remember being so free with my artistic ability'as a child that anything was possible even NOTHING!! this is the perfect representation in my opinion above :D

These are the cuttings out of my prints i made which i used to print onto paper ripped out from old books i purchased in the second hand shop i re-inked them to a blobby effect which i thought looked quiet cool!!

And again i experimented with the different colours and what i thought looked the best and went well with my project in what i was trying to protray to my targeted audience

This is repeated here :)

These are some of my prints i made onto the paper from the old books using the printing press :) i really enjoyed this in particular i thought it was alot of fun and exciting to see how they would turn out i LOVE using this process in printmaking :)

And again here you can see the original print and then the second shadowed one behind it

These are personal to me as they are my own family photos i used to print this one in particular i really like as its a photo of myself and my mum i believe it was my 6th birthday :) i think its just such a lovely photo and a lovely print it really shows affection and the love i felt growing up :)

Again a closer look and my final prints :)
this one is of me and my sister :)

I love these again showing a childlike quality and development into adulthood :) the words from the books represent intelligence and how that also grows with age you ''LIVE AND LEARN IN LIFE'' and the colours give it a funky look that is fun and playful taking the serious and making it fun and light hearted :)

Again taken in another angle!!!

And experimenting with colour and the different effects it has :)

This is my collage of photos changed to black and white for an old style effect :)
