Andy Goldsworthy - discussing my project and how his is relevent in my work!! :]

Goldsworthy works with land art and he was inspirational for my work with one of my books that im in the process of creating photographs will be added tomorrow :) .. The materials used in Andy Goldsworthy's art often include brightly-coloured flowers, icicles, leaves, mud, pinecones, snow, stone, twigs, and thorns.Im planting little flowers into my book and will have them spruting through the pages i began by carving into the book and gluing it all together i have still yet to make the slots for the flowers to grow out of and to add the mud and plant the seeds im interested in finding out weather they will actually bloom and grow or not?!  Goldsworthy has been quoted as saying, "I think it's incredibly brave to be working with flowers and leaves and petals. But I have to: I can't edit the materials I work with. My remit is to work with nature as a whole.".

my project will have alot of man made materials used they will feature in both this book and the album book of momentums that remind me of growth and life through the generations :) ive started the measurements and the cutting for the second book also and just have to gather all my materials together and organise how i want it to be structured im excited about how the end product will turn out :)

ive uploaded some pieces of work that i found inspirational by Goldsworthy below :] -

i love the colours used here and am contemplating whether or not to stick to the more basic take on this project by using green plants where i feel it would give it a more natural look or go for sometime more colourful. I'll be purchasing them sometime this week so will consider my options and what i think will suit my theme in this project and keep you updated :)

ill be uploading Photos soon!!

The Art of Idealism - choosing a theme

Deciding on a theme and considering aspects for a final piece.

So i've been thinking alot about my final piece, and although im still unsure of the how approach, im confident i have found the what! Im thinking fond memories in my childhood and in the past before my time. I've been gathering old photographs from family members and im looking into printing some of my favourite ones into an old book i purchased in a charity shop yesterday. I will also be gathering momentum's and little keep sakes that can be put into this journal of the past to give the book more character. Im also considering making a second sculture with another book representing growth and nature which will tie into the past and now the future as the book will show growth through the generations. The second book will show life i want it to be more 3-dimensional maybe trees coming out from the center of the pages but right now its still all very much up in the air and in the process section who knows what twists may come about!! Here are some uploads of what i have so far to work with.... : )

Photographs i collected representing memories and growth. Shows how things have changed from the past to the present!

Theses are the books i bought yesterday in the charity shop that ill be working with for this project.
